UCLA Police Department (UCPD)

UCLA Police Department (UCPD) provides patrol, response to emergency incidents and investigative services for the UCLA community. The 64 sworn police officers are joined by 40 full-time civilian department members in order to maintain campus safety. Typically, more than 31,500 community members are reached through crime prevention, resource tables and presentations annually. Seventy-five Community Service Officers patrol the campus as the ‘eyes and ears’ and 25 student EMTs comprise the Emergency Medical Services unit, responding to approximately 1,700 medical calls for service each year. UCPD employs the philosophy of Community Based Policing as its service model and strives to partner with community members in order to enhance the safety of the campus.
