UCLA Environmental Health and Safety recently resumed outreach events on campus, with friendly faces bringing education, sweet treats, demonstrations and gifts to Bruins who stopped for a moment to engage with our team about safety culture — from proper hazardous waste disposal to fire extinguisher use.
Organized by members of EH&S’ research safety division, pop-ups are held monthly throughout the year at various locations. EH&S’ chemical safety, field safety and research safety training have been leading these events, and there are plans add biosafety, fire safety, safety and compliance and industrial hygiene.
This outreach has proven to be a valuable opportunity for staff to engage with the campus community while educating on critical safety protocols, raising awareness about potential hazards and building connections.
