Over 300 managers and supervisors attended the 2022 UCLA Administration Leadership Forum at the Luskin Conference Center to discuss the opportunities and challenges impacting the organization.
Attendees heard a keynote speech from Vice Chancellor of Student Affairs Monroe Gorden, and a State of Administration address from Administrative Vice Chancellor Michael Beck. The morning session also featured recorded remarks from Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost Darnell Hunt, and Chancellor Gene Block addressed the afternoon session in person.
Professor Heather Caruso from the UCLA Anderson School of Management spoke about encouraging inclusivity to ensure all staff feel a sense of belonging. Attendees also split into breakout rooms with members of the Administration Leadership Team to discuss creating an agile organization and how to strengthen their response to change.
Administrative Vice Chancellor Beck closed the forum by recognizing project teams from Leadership 20XX, a program that strengthens the talent pipeline by growing critical leadership skills and capabilities within UCLA Administration. Leadership 2029’s Work from Home Management Solutions team received an award for Monthly Management Tips, a series of articles with tools and resources to help managers succeed.
