UCLA’s Gayley Heights student residence and STUDIOS Architecture received an honorable mention at the 2023 Chicago Anthenaeum Awards. The Chicago Athenaeum is an international museum of architecture and design that is dedicated to the art of design in all areas of the discipline: architecture, industrial and product design, graphics, landscape architecture and urban planning.
In addition, the 17-story high-rise that opened in 2022 and is home to nearly 1,200 UCLA students, won an Honor Award at the 2023 Westside Urban Forum Design Awards. For the past 30 years, the Westside Urban Forum has been dedicated to preserving and promoting open dialogue about land use on the west side of Los Angeles. Situated at the confluence of three major thoroughfares in Westwood Village, Gayley Heights forms a prominent gateway to the UCLA campus.
With sweeping views of the city and extending out to the ocean, the building’s completion played a pivotal role in establishing UCLA’s housing guarantee for undergraduate students.
