Borae Kim serves as Chief Administrative and Financial Officer (CAFO) for UCLA Environment, Health & Safety (EH&S). In her role as CAFO, she oversees the department’s administrative and business operations, including finance, budgeting and resource management, human resources, facilities, and the learning and development initiatives. She works closely with department leadership in organizational planning, fiscal stewardship, and continuous improvement initiatives that support EH&S’s mission to protect the campus health and safety.

Prior to joining EH&S, Borae served as Chief Finance Officer and Senior Fund Manager at the UCLA Institute for Pure and Applied Mathematics, where she managed multiple accounts and funding sources, including a $25 million National Science Foundation grant, endowments and gift funds, sales and service activities, and contracts & grants. She also contributed as Administrative Manager at the UCLA Center for Digital Humanities (HumTech).

A UCLA alumna with a degree in History, outside of work, she enjoys traveling, cooking, supporting her son’s educational community, and spending time with her family and pets.
