The International Parking & Mobility Institute (IPMI) chose UCLA Transportation as its 2021 Organization of the Year, recognizing the department’s operational excellence and designating UCLA as the very best in the parking, transportation and mobility industry. UCLA Transportation was honored for its breadth of programs and services, commitment to advancing innovative ideas, and exemplary customer service, marketing, human resources and professional development. IPMI’s annual awards programs celebrate organizations, as well as individuals, tapping two UCLA Transportation staff members for professional recognition wins.
Lauren Berghell received the Professional Excellence in Marketing Award and Chris Lechner was named Emerging Leader of the Year. Berghell heads the department’s integrated marketing and communications team, and Lechner leads the data analytics and strategic projects group.
The team was featured in the July edition of Parking & Mobility magazine on pages 25-31.
In addition to IPMI recognition, the UCLA fleet was honored as the No. 1 university fleet operation in the nation by the NAFA (National Association of Fleet Administrators) Fleet Management Association. The university fleet made NAFA’s 100 Best Fleets national ranking as a peak-performing vehicle operation in the public fleet industry.
To be named one of the best public fleet operations, fleet services must demonstrate excellence in technology, accountability, creativity and resource stewardship. Here is where UCLA’s fleet really shines, continuing to lower its environmental impact and getting closer to running a completely carbon neutral fleet, a goal set to be achieved by 2025. UCLA Transportation is committed to remaining an industry leader and these accolades demonstrate the department’s professionalism and continued use of best practices.
