Given the evolving situation, please visit Bruins Safe Online for information about how UCLA is responding to fires in the Los Angeles region.

Stay engaged while working remotely

Feeling a little detached working from home? No need to feel alone–you can still connect with your UCLA colleagues!

Here are a few suggestions to help you to stay engaged, keep up with work, and even have fun on the job.

  • Continue meeting
Set-up regular phone calls, check-in with colleagues, and work with others on projects.
  • Keep in touch
Use Zoom or another audio or video conferencing platform to set up a virtual breakroom or happy hour chat.
  • Host a virtual get together
Give a tour of your new "office," introduce your pet, set up a lunch date, or organize a learn-at-lunch-like cooking class.
  • Take a break
Decompress with a group meditation, pass along something inspiring, and get those feel-good endorphins with a virtual exercise break.
  • Coordinate a virtual stretch break
Exercising is always better with a buddy to keep you accountable.
  • Swap ideas with colleagues
Share your quarantine playlist and tell your colleagues about what TV or movies you’re watching.
  • Most importantly, have some fun
Host a themed dress-up day-wear hats, silly shirts, or your best Bruin gear.

Remember, we're all in this together.
