Administration Leadership Team member Lucy Avetisyan, associate vice chancellor and chief information officer, responds.
As we navigate the evolving landscape of technology, our team is actively exploring the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools to enhance our operations and services across various departments. We are committed to ensuring that investments in AI deliver tangible benefits to our campus community.
Our approach to incorporating AI is holistic, ensuring alignment with our strategic goals to enhance efficiency, drive innovation and improve service delivery. We are assessing and doing an active discovery of AI technologies to understand their capabilities and how they can be tailored to meet our needs.
Risk management, particularly in terms of data privacy, security and ethical considerations, is at the forefront of our strategy. We are working with technology providers directly to support and release tools that align with our standards.
Regulatory compliance, talent acquisition and skill development are key pillars of our AI integration strategy. We recognize the importance of engaging with our campus stakeholders to address concerns, share insights, and ensure a collaborative partnership and exploration when it comes to more AI-enabled operations.
We are pursuing pilot projects to test AI solutions responsibly and safely, allowing us to gauge effectiveness and make informed decisions about wider implementation. AI initiatives will be supported by comprehensive awareness campaigns, targeted training programs and strategic change management to facilitate the campus community's smooth transition to these innovative solutions.
Our journey towards integrating AI is driven by a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation and excellence in serving our university community. We look forward to sharing more updates in the coming months.
