Ilana leads the strategic management and optimization of academic products, platforms, and related technologies at UCLA. Drawing on her deep understanding of the university's needs and experience in enhancing both in-person and virtual academic technologies, she oversees the full application lifecycle that enables teaching, learning, student administration, and faculty administration by establishing a product-management-focused organization.
Academic Technology sets the strategy for a portfolio of enterprise-wide products and platforms that support academic stakeholders across the university. The Academic Technology team partners, designs, develops, configures, enhances, optimizes, and maintains core enterprise technologies, including Admissions & Financial Aid, Student Records & Engagement, Billing & Accounts Receivable, Bruin Learn Center of Excellence, and Faculty Information Products. The team ensures the functionality, quality, business value, user experience, and digital accessibility of these products and platforms to meet the expectations of the campus community.
Before joining UCLA, Ilana was a Consulting Manager at a major professional services consulting firm focused on Higher Education. Previously, she served as Chief Information Officer (CIO) for NYU’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development, where she was responsible for all technology functions and implemented new support models, fiscal efficiency consolidation, and multi-year roadmaps to align the school with a rapidly evolving educational environment. At Pace University, Ilana supported the Associate Dean in reinforcing the University’s Strategic Plan and also taught as an adjunct professor for three years in the Department of Computer Science.
