Lisa Koerbling, interim executive director of UCLA Events & Transportation, was recently honored by the UCLA Administrative Management Group (AMG) for 32 years of remarkable service to our campus.

“It was our honor and pleasure to select Lisa as the recipient of the 2023 Distinguished Career Award because of the incredible legacy she has created through her innovative thinking, collaborative nature, and her mentorship of others, said Patty Gonzalez Johnson, chair of AMG.

The annual AMG Distinguished Career Award recognizes an individual for making important contributions to the university and sharing invaluable institutional knowledge with others over a significant period of time. Koerbling was recognized along with other award recipients and nominees at a virtual ceremony held May 12.

Among other things, Koerbling was recognized for carefully managing tens of millions in annual operating funds, leading the campus’ transition to the fully virtual Bruin ePermit System, and acting as a trusted coach and mentor to countless students and staff. She has also contributed publications, developed socially equitable policies and been an “incredible steward” of the university’s assets and resources, said Gonzalez Johnson.

“Lisa is a trailblazer, strategic visionary and has inspired changes that have led UCLA to become a model for sustainable commuting in Southern California,” said Gonzalez Johnson. “She has shared her expertise with the campus, helped mentor and develop UC leaders and continually promotes the university’s mission through her actions. Her career has had a tremendous impact on her department and on UCLA.”
