Equity Council Speaker Series: Becoming a Hispanic-Serving Institution

Save the date for Jan. 31, 2023, when Dr. Elizabeth "Liz" Gonzalez will discuss the findings of UCLA's HSI Task Force, Cultivating the Seeds of Change: Becoming a Hispanic-Serving Institution, and the strategies UCLA will undertake to implement student-centered and culturally responsive initiatives that improve equity in student outcomes, research and engagement, and uplifts underserved communities.  

Dr. Gonzalez is a change agent for equity and social justice. She is a Ñuu Savi (Mixtec) migrant and first-generation college graduate with a B.A. in psychology and education studies from UCLA, an M.S. and Ph.D. in psychology from UC Santa Cruz. She currently serves as the inaugural Director of the Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI) at UCLA’s Office of the Chancellor and as the Vice President of Conference for the Alliance of HSI Educators (AHSIE).
