Updates made to campus COVID-19 prevention program

In order to provide continued support to UCLA faculty and staff in navigating complexities posed by COVID-19, UCLA has recently modified UCLA Safer Return to On-Site Work Guidance During COVID-19 information.

The improved resource aims to more comprehensively inform the Bruin community of UCLA’s plan to cautiously and gradually resume on-site university operations as local public health conditions allow. It also addresses in more detail the specific public health mitigation measures which must be in place to keep our Bruins safer on campus and other UCLA premises during the pandemic.

The revised document complies with the recently promulgated Cal/OSHA COVID-19 Prevention regulation (Title 8 CCR 3205), now reflecting the 11 specific criteria required in a written COVID-19 Prevention Program. It also includes phases of proposed increases in UCLA’s on-site densities and activities in alignment with the CA Blueprint for a Safer Economy Tiers and LA County Department of Public Health guidance and orders. It also serves an important role as the campus’ governing document for our umbrella plan, and guides UCLA’s departmental resumption plans, (which capture operation-specific mitigation measures unique to each work environment).

Please view the UCLA COVID-19 Response and Recovery Town Hall from Dec. 9, 2020 for a 10-minute overview of the plan by Environment, Health & Safety Executive Officer Michelle A. Sityar. In addition, an updated UCLA COVID-19 safety training will be launched shortly via LMS — stay tuned for more information on this training requirement!
